Chincoteague Island Thanksgiving Weekend and beyond

Greetings and Gratitude from Chincoteague Island

First off, let me mention that I received a surprise phone call from the locally legendary Captain Barry this week. It seems that he was making some shell jewelry for Christmas presents and called for some advice. Captain Barry is a true original and a Chincoteague icon. I'm happy to call him a friend.

On the subject of Thanksgiving weekend, it seems that Chincoteague has decided that the best way to digest all that turkey and dressing etc. is to celebrate art. The island is absolutely jammed with opportunities to view and purchase locally and regionally produced art, decoys and crafts. It is also a great time to get up close and personal with nature. Evelyn Shotwell from the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce has produced yet another comprehensive list of 'things to do' on Chincoteague Island on this Thanksgiving Weekend and beyond. Personally, I am very thankful for Evelyn's efforts. I'm sure you will feel the same. Happy Thanksgiving all!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
We have much to be thankful for. The island was spared serious damage from the nor’easter, more food than we need to eat, and a wonderful community of friends who are there through good times and bad. Take a few moments to embrace all that you have to be thankful for tomorrow and then enjoy some “out & about” time with family and friends.

Chincoteague November Happenings

Greetings from a wind-blown and rain-drenched Chincoteague Island. This nor'easter can't last forever, but it has already overstayed it's welcome. When it's time to come out of your cave, there will be plenty to do here on Chincoteague. As usual, Evelyn Shotwell from the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce, is right on top of the situation. O.K. Evelyn, I have a real bad case of Cabin Fever, "what can I look forward to?"
