Do you have a flare for writing or have you ever wanted to get published? Here is the place to share your Chincoteague Vacation experience; after you’re published you can send the link to your family and friends. Here are a few suggestions for the types of articles:
If you’re a birder and enjoy watching birds in the salt marshes, woodlands or nesting areas of the Chincoteague Island Refuge tell us about your sightings and experience.
If you fish the surf of Assateague Island tell us a fish story we want to know what you caught and what got away. Other ideas for an article would be canoe or kayak adventures, hikes and cycling experiences or just how much fun your vacation was.
Another type of article might be day trips you have taken to Chincoteague, Assateague or towns in the Virginia Eastern Shore region.
Here’s a few guidelines of what articles will or will not be accepted, first what is not acceptable includes: advertisements, or mean-spirited hateful material, or any promotion of fanatical or radical opinions, we refuse to publish anything we don’t like.
What are acceptable are happy family oriented vacation experiences. There are not a lot of rules but we ask the following:
- Make it Original – something you wrote
- Create a Title
- Include your Author Name
- Article Body should be 250 to 500 words (1000 word max)
- Photos are acceptable no more than 5 or 6
- You may include up to 2 links to your website or blog
- A short summary separate from the body is helpful but not mandatory. This summary will be used to get your webpage Search Engine Optimized.
- Submit your article in a word document.
When you are ready to submit send your article to lwarwick@websketching.com and attach your word document and photos. I will send back an email when the article is published with a link to your page (usually within 48 hours!).
